Dorman L Bailey Obituary ADRIAN: Dorman L. Bailey, age 75, of Adrian died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at his home with his loving family. He was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Adrian, to Lyle and Mildred Bailey. Dorman was in 4-H during his teenage years. He raised all kinds of animals, including draft horses and a reserve grand champion steer at the Michigan State Fair. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1947 and attended classes in agriculture at Michigan State College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 in Europe and Germany and was a member of the North Adrian Grange for more than 50 years. In addition to farming he also worked at the former Hurd Lock Co., Merillat, Budd Co., and retired from Jacobs Plastics. After retirement, he worked five years for his nephew who owned Adrian Insulators, but farming was his first love. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and helping his neighbors. Dorman is survived by two daughters, Debra Bailey of Traverse City, Mich., and Karen Woodruff of Adrian; three grandchildren, Roy, Nicholas and Thomas Woodruff of Adrian; two sisters, his twin Dorothy (Dwayne) Hunt of Tavares, Fla., and Joyce Patterson of Adrian. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy. At his request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Donations may be made to the family or Hospice of Lenawee. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home.
